First and foremost I am an advocate for small, impactful nonprofits. I have a passion for helping match donors to funding opportunities. Recognizing that small organizations have unique needs and often lack resources for training, I created this website to help provide information to give these organizations tools to present their case more effectively to donors and prospects. In short – helping them to raise more money.
I currently serve as Executive Director for the Estes Park Medical Center Foundation. In this role I oversee functions related to fundraising, management, community relations, and marketing. I have served in this capacity since March, 2016. I have over 20 years of experience in nonprofit executive management and fundraising, having previously served in roles with the American Red Cross, The Salvation Army, and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I have also performed consulting services for nonprofit organizations in the areas of board development, fundraising plans and evaluations, feasibility studies, marketing and communications, and donor development.
I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Regis University as well as the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation. I am also a graduate of the Institute for Leaders in Development at the University of Denver. Additionally I have a Master of Nonprofit Management (MNM) degree from Regis University, along with a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Organizational Capacity Building.
My affiliations include the Association of Fundraising Professionals Colorado Chapter (At-Large Director), the American College of Healthcare Executives, and the Colorado Planned Giving Roundtable (Member of the Summer Symposium Committee). I’m a member of The Denver Athletic Club, and serve on the Members Recruiting Members Committee. I am the Treasurer of the Denver African American Philanthropists (DAAP), and a member of the Board of Directors of The Elizabeth Guild, Inc., in Estes Park.
I am originally from California and I have also lived in the Seattle area. I am the proud father of a college student. Kevin Jr. is studying at Western Washington University for a career in philanthropy, and is a member of the Cross Country and Track teams. In my limited spare time I enjoy domestic and international travel, downhill skiing, team sports, live entertainment, and technology.
