About Me

First and foremost I am an advocate for small, impactful nonprofits. I have a passion for helping match donors to funding opportunities. Recognizing that small organizations have unique needs and often lack resources for training, I created this website to help provide information to give these organizations tools to present their case more effectively to donors and prospects. In short – helping them to raise more money.

I currently serve as President of the Estes Park Health Foundation. We are the fundraising arm for Estes Park Health, the local integrated healthcare organization serving the Estes Park, CO area. In this role I oversee functions related to fundraising, management, community relations, and marketing. I have served in this capacity since March, 2016. I have over 20 years of experience in nonprofit executive management and fundraising, having previously served in roles with the American Red Cross, The Salvation Army, and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I have also performed consulting services for nonprofit organizations in the areas of board development, fundraising plans and evaluations, feasibility studies, marketing and communications, and donor development. I am also an adjunct professor in the Nonprofit Leadership Program at the University of Denver.

I  hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Regis University as well as the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation. I am also a graduate of the Institute for Leaders in Development at the University of Denver.  Additionally I have a Master of Nonprofit Management (MNM) degree from Regis University, along with a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Organizational Capacity Building.

My affiliations include the Association of Fundraising Professionals Colorado Chapter, the American College of Healthcare Executives, and the Colorado Planned Giving Roundtable (Member of the Summer Symposium Committee). I’m the Vice Chairman of the Board for the Colorado Nonprofit Association and the Treasurer of the Denver African American Philanthropists (DAAP). I’m also a member of the Board of Directors of The Elizabeth Guild, Inc., in Estes Park.

I am originally from California and I have also lived in the Seattle area. I am the proud father of Kevin Jr., a recent graduate of Western Washington University.  In my limited spare time I enjoy domestic and international travel, downhill skiing, team sports, live entertainment, and technology.
